Jarvis Transferred Out of San Quentin State Prison; KCRA 3 News Update on Jarvis Airs

After 42 years of incarceration at San Quentin State Prison—33 of those years for a crime he did not commit— Jarvis Jay Masters has now been transferred to Sierra Conservation Center in Jamestown, CA. Jamestown is located two hours east of the Bay Area. Jarvis was among the last of over 630 men to be moved out of San Quentin’s East Block, as part of California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s plan to physically dismantle the nation’s largest death row. All death sentences currently remain in place. More details will be forthcoming.

UPDATE: On June 13, Sacramento’s KCRA 3 News aired a 6-minute segment on Jarvis and his legal case, based on veteran anchor Edie Lambert’s recent phone interview with Jarvis in his final days at San Quentin. Watch and read about it here.
