Jarvis' Writing on Covid-19 Featured on LitHub
Jarvis has written a firsthand account as Covid-19 rips through San Quentin, which has now been featured on Lithub here .
On the literary website, he questions the unintended consequences of both the CA Dept of Corrections’ planned suspension of state phone privileges at San Quentin and its effect on the men and their families. He urges an abundance of caution regarding the early release of 8,000 state prisoners: “Covid-19 infections would be released right into low-income communities of mostly people of color, communities of people already suffering from serious underlying medical conditions…The death rate would be unconscionable.”
