URGENT: COVID-19 Surges Through San Quentin

URGENT: As a result of gross mismanagement, the coronavirus is now surging through San Quentin State Prison where 891 prisoners (over 20% of the population) and 89 staff have tested positive, according to the CDCR tracker. The facility had gone without any cases until 121 inmates were transferred from the California Institute for Men in Chino, CA, on May 30. The prisoners from CIM, which then had the largest outbreak among CA state prisons, had not been tested for weeks prior to the move.
